I will continue using my Acronis 2017 rescue media not because it's better but because I have been using it for years and am familiar with its features/GUI but I always recommend Macrium as a free reliable drive imaging solution.Macrium offers Full & Differential only, Incremental is part of the paid package. As Ghot pointed out this forum is full of Macrium users so you will receive plenty of support. The free version offers full/incremental/differential backups but the Image Guardian is a paid feature. I have tested Macrium to create images of both Windows XP and 10 and tested the viability of the image by wiping the drives then restoring with the bootable rescue media created by Macrium.
I recommend Macrium Reflect Free because it does everything Acronis does for free.
I haven't and won't upgrade because current versions are becoming too bloated and adding subscription features that I have no need for. I am a long-time Acronis True Image user since 2009 - I currently use 2017 bootable rescue media for all my Windows XP, 7 & 10 imaging, backed and restored flawlessly.
